Jessica Bell Rizzolo is a conservation social scientist who holds a Dual Ph.D. in Sociology and Environmental Science and Policy from Michigan State University, as well as a MA in Psychology from Northwestern University. She has a particular interest in research that is applied, interdisciplinary, and that uses innovative methods to inspire sustainable social change. She has authored over twenty articles and book chapters on wildlife conservation, wildlife crime, and wildlife tourism, with a particular focus on the issues affecting captive-held and wild Asian elephants and big cats. She is currently a board member and research officer for Voices for Asian Elephants.
