Chiara Mariti is an associate professor at the Department of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Pisa (Italy). Her research and teaching focuses on anthrozoology (especially dog-owner attachment), pet welfare and behavior, and endocrinology (especially biomarkers of well-being and stress). In addition to her degree in Veterinary Medicine, she holds a degree in Purebred Dog Breeding and Dog Training, a Master's Degree in Pet Behavioral Medicine, and a Ph.D. in Equine Physiology.

She is a diplomate of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioral Medicine (ECAWBM-AWSEL) and recognized in Italy as a veterinarian expert in animal behavior and expert in animal-assisted interventions (FNOVI).
