Michelle Lute is a wildlife scientist and conservation leader with two decades of experience in wildlife conservation, nonprofit leadership, and public policy. As Executive Director of Wildlife for All, she’s leading the charge to transform state wildlife governance and center justice, compassion, and democracy in conservation.

Michelle holds a Ph.D. in wildlife management and has authored more than 30 publications in ecology and the social sciences. Her career has spanned roles in state and federal government, academia, and advocacy, all grounded in a commitment to evidence-based, inclusive solutions for human-wildlife coexistence. Dr. Lute played an instrumental role in stopping Wisconsin’s second proposed wolf hunt in 2021 and advancing legislation such as Roxy’s Law, which bans traps, poisons, and snares on New Mexico’s public lands. She continues to work nationwide to reform wildlife management systems and strengthen protections for all wild animals.
