Dr. Elaine F. Leslie has served as a wildlife biologist, conservation biologist, and marine mammalogist for over 45 years in private industry and the federal government (U.S. National Park Service). Serving in multiple positions during a nearly 30-year tenure with the National Park Service, including at the Regional, Washington DC, and park program manager and superintendency level, Elaine has worked to conserve, restore, and preserve both natural and cultural resources throughout a long career, as well as initiate landscape and biodiversity conservation initiatives on a national level. Elaine retired as the long-term Agency Chief for Biological Resources. Addressing biodiversity conservation, preservation and restoration, exotic and invasive species invasions, and at-risk species preservation and restoration are of particular interest, in addition to removing toxins such as lead and rodenticides from the environment. Elaine currently serves on the National Parks and Conservation Wildlife Advisory Committee, the Alabama River Diversity Network Executive Board, Paint Rock Research Center Executive Council, and on the Executive Council to Protect Americas National Parks.
