Steve Ann Chambers is an attorney and a life-long animal advocate. She worked in private legal practice in Seattle for 12 years, and then joined the nonprofit animal protection sector and became a national leader in the animal protection movement serving for many years as President of the Animal Legal Defense Fund and helping lay the groundwork for legal involvement with animal protection issues nationally and internationally while also helping to create and enhance legal education curricula regarding animals at major universities throughout the United States including Harvard University. She also served for many years as Director of Philanthropy for the Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF), the 501c4 political affiliate of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), and Director of Philanthropy for the Western Region of the HSUS. Having spent years at ALDF, HSLF and HSUS, Steve Ann developed a specialized skill in raising funds to propel goals for the betterment of nonhuman animals, as well as for the environment and the advancement of our society as a whole.
