Don LePan, MA, DHLitt (hon.)

Don LePan founded the academic publishing company Broadview Press in 1985; he remains on the company’s Board of Directors and is one of the General Editors of The Broadview Anthology of British Literature (2006). He is the author of a monograph on Shakespeare’s plots and medieval literature (1989), of numerous scholarly papers in animal studies and Victorian studies, and of several books of fiction. He is probably best known for his first novel, Animals (2010), described by J.M. Coetzee as “a powerful piece of writing and a disturbing call to conscience.”
