Jamie DeLeeuw, Ph.D.

Dr. Jamie DeLeeuw is a community psychologist with two decades of experience in research and evaluation, including both basic and applied research. Her work examines how human behavior, organizations, and social systems shape animal welfare and how evidence can inform stronger programs, policies, and practices. Her research has addressed animal rights attitudes, animal shelter dog outcomes, professional dog training practices, and unowned cat welfare and population management in Europe and Australia. Past roles include research and evaluation leadership at Austin Pets Alive! and the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University. Jamie is the founder of Community Research Plus, where she works with animal welfare and other mission-driven organizations on research, evaluation, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. She welcomes consulting and collaborative research opportunities.
